Copper and aluminum welding is the copper material and aluminum material through the welding process welding into one. Because copper and aluminum are both easily oxidized metals, the welding between copper and aluminum has always been an international welding problem.
Analysis of common copper – aluminum welding technology
There are three common brazing processes of copper and aluminum:
1. Traditionally, copper and aluminum are welded by hanging tin and melting tin, but this method is not well formed and has no good strength. Due to the low melting point of tin and the inability to weld the workpiece at high temperature, this process is only suitable for small workpiece at low temperature and is difficult to be used in the production of other products.
2. In fusion welding, friction welding, cold welding, explosion welding, electron beam welding, ultrasonic welding methods, such as copper and aluminum welding, welding of joints brittleness is big, easy to crack and weld easily to produce porosity, welding of the workpiece is easy to break made of conductive circuit, pipeline leak, so often can not meet the requirements in actual production effect;
3. Brazing copper and aluminum are welded together by flame brazing, furnace brazing and high-frequency brazing, etc. Brazing technology USES the filler metal as the medium to weld the copper and aluminum together. After brazing welding, the joint shape is better, the tensile and shear properties and electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance are better, which is the common method of brazing aluminum in the market at present.
