Induction heat treatment is energy saving heat treatment, its power consumption quota is always a difficult problem. In the past, the calculation method in China was based on the total mass of parts, that is, how many kilowatt-hours per ton of induction heat treatment parts consume. This brings an unfair problem, small workpiece (such as track plate pin) quench part and the non-quench part quality difference is very small, and large pieces (such as big gear, crankshaft, etc.) only quench a local small area, quench part and the non-quench part quality difference is very big, the general use of a power consumption quota is unfair.
GB/T 10201-2008 Guidelines for Reasonable Electricity Consumption for Heat Treatment has quenched the induction heating part, as shown in Table 1.
Table 1 Induction heating quenching power consumption quota
Table 2 USES the heating layer area and depth (that is, the volume) to calculate the power consumption quota, which is more reasonable and can be continuously revised in future implementation to more accurate.
Some American companies list the actual power consumption of some metal induction heating. See Table 2 for reference in design estimation.
Table 2 Actual power consumption of partial metal induction heating
Induction heat treatment with power consumption quota can promote the process improvement, can urge users to choose energy saving power source, high efficiency quenching machine and high efficiency inductor, so that the energy heat treatment really realize energy saving.
